Are you looking for Fitness? Balance? Self-Defense? Self-Confidence? Would you like to incorporate something more meaningful than running on a treadmill, or repetitive gym exercise into your fitness and wellness routines? Maybe you are a Traditional Martial Arts Warrior – and you don’t even know it!
The study of Taijutsu – The traditional Japanese Warrior Art can bring you all of these things, and more. We train, Body, Mind and Spirit – in a friendly, non-sparring environment, working with partners, slowly and with control to avoid unnecessary injuries, while training the mind and body to work naturally from center, flowing with the energy and body mechanics, so that you begin to understand, innately, natural body movement. In a nutshell, you practice and learn natural body dynamics so that you may overcome and use your opponent’s energy against him, or her in a conflict.
As a real-life practical self defense system – it is unparalelled, because it doesn’t rely upon strength or size to match your opponent. Rather, by understanding and directing energy, through natural body movement, you will learn to defeat your opponent by simply harnessing their attack and energy, and redirecting it. The bigger and more powerful the force they use – the harder they will fall!
The Yamato Dojo is Honbu (Home) of the Ten-Chi-Wa Bujutsukan, which is headquartered at The Dojo, Covington, Louisiana.
Chadwick Minge is the Kancho (Director) of the Ten-Chi-Wa Bujutsukan and chief instructor of the Yamato Dojo. He is assisted by a staff of licensed black belt instructors.
Classes are available morning, afternoon and evening. Private instruction is also available. Upon joining, a new student is assigned to a Senpai (Senior Student) who works directly with him/her to introduce him/her to the fundamental aspects of our art, and to help the new student along the way. This is all done on a personal basis to help integrate the beginning student into the mainstream of our normal class.
Ninpo Taijutsu is a martial art, which centers on awareness and harmony. This is accomplished by slowly and methodically retraining our bodies to move in a natural and flowing manner, enabling us to use natural energy and power to counter an adversary’s attack.
We train to develop the Spirit of the Defensive Heart, to survive, to escape, not to engage in competition. Size, strength, age and gender are not a detriment to one trained in the art of Ninpo-Taijutsu.
